Some of the songs work better than others

Have you read Moby-Dick? You should. Let’s be honest. It’s amazing. It is one of the most thrilling, exacting, enticing, soul-searching books ever to be written in English. Sure some of the language is a bit outdated, but when you start to see what Melville was constructing, when you put together why he has so many chapters on whales the message dawns on you.

So. Patrick Shea agrees and is writing a song a day (almost) to every chapter in Moby-Dick. He’s gotten pretty far and some of them are down right catchy. He runs the gambit of differing style so if a piano ballad isn’t your cup of chum/tea he’s got more! My only question is … where’s the Italo-Disco?

  1. This is one of those books I keep saying I will read and then never do. I’m not sure how I have managed to avoid it all these years.
